Class: 6 - Lesson: 14 Advanced Programming (Sounds for Sprite and Backdrop)

Purpose: To learn how to use sound for backdrops and sprites, and to generate sound using AI tools.

    Prior Knowledge

    Students should know:

  • Sprites and backdrops.
  • Motion and looks blocks.
  • How to create new costumes for a sprite and backdrop, and how to use the internet.

    Exercise 1


    1. Create a new Scratch project and insert sounds from the library.

    Exercise 2


    1. Create a Scratch project, and try recording and uploading sounds.

    Exercise 3


    1. Create a Scratch project and try changing the pitch and volume, using the pitch block and the change volume block.

    Exercise 4


    1. Write a program in which you insert four musical instruments, so that when you click on one it produces the matching sound from the Sounds tab.

    Exercise 5


    1. Generate a poem using an AI text-generation tool such as ChatGPT or Gemini by giving prompts.Here are a few sample prompts for reference. Copy the final poem and generate music for it using the SUNO AI music generator.
